I wonder if the system console has the logs in it?

But once the cert (and key) are generated, can a different user (like me) who has admin privileges use them to build an app, as long as they have the key and cert?
Anyone with the cert and private key can use the signing identity. We’ve adopted the practice here at Panic of creating separate keychains to contain the identities of our various accounts. Because as Quincey mentions xcode will perform substring matching on the signing identity setting you can easily run into collisions. By specifying the —keychain <path to keychain> code signing option you’ll eliminate the ambiguities. I believe that in newer xcodes signing identity ambiguities are a fatal error which may be the culprit here.
