I took mine to an Apple Store for the battery replacement and got the same one back back. I did the other two steps they tell you to (backed up, turned off find my iPhone, but didn’t erase). I figured I would if I got there and they told me I had to erase I would but he said he didn’t need me to but wanted to make certain I had it backed up in case something went wrong. I know I got my original phone back because it had/has a plastic screen cover complete with same pocket lint under the one corner of the screen protector.
I’ve occasionally had to reboot my phone or reboot my computer to get Xcode to recognize it for development. And isn’t there a “use for development” button somewhere in Xcode. Maybe that needs pressed again after doing the "erase all content.”

After returning home I restored the iPhone 5 from my iMac - I had backed up just 2 hours prior. Everything seemed fine until I tried to provision the iPhone with an app I'm developing. Xcode 5.1.1 does not recognize my iPhone5 when I plug it in. I have no problem provisioning my iPhone 4 or my iPad, so the problem is only related to the newly restored iPhone 5. Here's the message I get: "Xcode cannot run using the selected device. No provisioned iOS devices are available with a compatible iOS version. Connect an iOS device with a recent enough version of iOS to run your application or choose an iOS simulator as the destination." Any suggestions would be appreciated.
