The combination of the two sounds like great start. Sysdiagnose reports are great even if you don't imagine the issue to be performance related. The engineering team will get back to you if they need anything else.

Additionally, if you have access to pre-release builds of Xcode or Xcode server it's usually also a good idea to see if your issues persist with those versions before filing bug reports. Not a requirement, for sure, but it can be a time saver for everyone involved.
