This is another of my “what I’d try next” responses…
The documentation sets Xcode uses resides in ~/Library/Developer/Shared/Documentation/Shared/DocSets/. * Shut Xcode down and move the contents to another directory. Restart Xcode, then use the Downloads panel of the Preferences window to force a fresh download of the docsets.
* (Why they’re kept per-user is beyond my understanding, but that’s a recent, affirmative decision, so there must be a reason.)
It’s a little bit like the “rebuild the desktop database” and “remove the preferences file” superstitions, but it’s my best guess.
