I eventually got an iOS device to update it. Then on the Mac I deleted the book and reinstalled it from iCloud and that updated it there. I went to the Swift book page in the store, and the “Free” button said “Update” instead. I clicked that and the book updated.
Hmm - just tried this on my Air which has been languishing for a week. The weblink has a button to ‘view in iBooks’, the iBooks store button says ‘Read’ (not ‘Free’ or ‘Update’), has a publication date of 2 jun 2014 and clicking that takes me to iBooks where the old version persists. Check For Updates gives me no update.
Delete from iBooks, click on the cloud icon and finally the new one is pulled in.
Wonder why yours works. |
