Oh… Thanks Markus. That did the trick.

I've then re-checked the corresponding section in the current version
of the iTunes Connect Developer Guide (2014-03-12, "Test Users", p.
65), and I think I've mistakenly been focused on Game Center *and*
In-App Purchases—for which my app isn't subscribed to using—while
those were just two examples among many Apple technologies…
