How do I set the icon for a Document Type?

Xcode 5.1.1, iOS app. I declare a custom document type, that's working just fine.

1) how do I set a custom "Document Icon"? In the Target -> Info view, there is an area titled "Document Types (1)". On the left is a "No Image Specified" square. On the right is a "Add Icons Here". So I tried pngs - I can add them, when I tap on the "+" button I can see them, I can select them, but nothing happens. I tried creating an icns file, dropped it, it shows up, but again, nothing happens when its selected.

Assuming you know the answer to the above, maybe you know the answer to this questions too:

2) I have a custom document suffix, .stConfig. Under "Export", I set "Conforms to" to "public.text". When I email such a file to myself, and I tap on it, Mail opens it in a text window. I assume this is due to the "Conforms to" declaration. What should I change that string to, so that Mail does not try to open it?

David
