Xcode SCCS support of images.xcassets

Xcode 5.1.1, Mac OS 10.8.5.

Just wondering how we are supposed to work with an Xcode project under source code control and asset catalogs, namely images.xcassets.

I've got this lovely workspace here with 25 individual projects and SDKs that is under SVN source control.

In one of them, I am following Apple's guidelines and adding all the iOS icons to images.xcassets by dragging the properly sized graphic into the appropriate graphic slot within images.xcassets.

There is no indicator next to the images.xcassets file that anything has been added to the project, needs to be added to source control and committed to the server.

Just went over to a coworker's Mac and tried the same thing with identical results. No little letter in the Project Navigator panel that sates "there are newly added files that need to be committed to the repo with your comments".

Can someone please tell me why this operates differently than every other case of adding files to a project and how to actually commit them to our repo?

If adding files to an asset catalog doesn't display that files need to be added to the server next to the asset catalog in the Project Navigator, where are those changes shown?

Thanks much,
- Alex Zavatone
