Very true, but as posted after, this is doing it in 6.1 GM as well.
What’s interesting: I started a new project, and it works. So it’s something project related. If you go into the schemes, there is a Enable user interface debugging checkbox. If I deselect it, the button disappears in the following sim launch. If I check it, it appears again as intended. I went back and checked my schemes in the project it isn’t working and it IS checked but NOT appearing.
Still digging, I’m leaning towards this being a bug :’(. Why Xcode 6, you were so perf… uh nevermind
