Refactor -> Rename does nothing

  • Subject: Refactor -> Rename does nothing

I’m trying to rename some methods on my classes using the Xcode Refactor functionality. However, it ends up doing nothing.

I select a method name and Right-click then select “Refactor>Rename”.
I then edit the method name in the text field.
Xcode then searches for instances of this symbol that will be renamed but comes back with “No files”.

I would figure it should show at least one change, the selection I originally made. But there is nothing shown. Any ideas why this would happen, or how I can rename my methods in this instance?

Thanks.

Doug Hill
