Thanks for the info, will check that setting.
FWIW, I'm stuck on OS X 10.11.x due to restrictions at work about updating to macOS Sierra. After three Storyboards became corrupted to the point of hanging Xcode, and numerous other errors, it's becoming clear that Xcode 8 doesn't work very well on 10.11.x. I'm still worried about the Command-line tools issue though.
