1. This belongs on a UI list, not on the Cocoa-dev list.

2. Use a different modifier key -- the OPTION-CLICK combo is well
   and long-term documented to hide the active application while
   switching to the background app in whose window the user has
   just clicked.  Try the CTRL or CMD or even a combination of
   two or more of these....
