view hierarchy inspector (for debugging)?

  • Subject: view hierarchy inspector (for debugging)?

Has anyone written a utility (or code fragment) for inspecting the hierarchy of views in a window?
I'm thinking of something that would show (e.g. in an NSBrowser) all of the views & subviews of a specified window. For each view, it would show the class of that view, the frame and bounds, etc.
I'm thinking of something that could be built into your app as a debugging tool. The window to be queried could be specified programmatically (i.e. by giving it as a parameter) or perhaps by choosing it from a list of windows in that app.
I searched the archives but didn't see any mention of something like this - which surprised me since it would serve a common need.
