Is that really the case?
The Gretag Spectrolino/Spectroscan-T can measure transmissive. This device
is offered in their top-end iProfile Bundle package. It's pretty pricey but
it is arguably a much more versatile instrument/package than the X-Rite
unit. And can the X-Rite "T" unit take single patch measurements or must you
still be able to "scan" the target in?
Why exactly do you feel you need to the transmission option? The only use
I've seen for this is to create custom transparency reference data but you
can eliminate that need by purchasing custom measured targets such as Don
Hutcheson's HCT targets or find somebody with a Spectroscan-T that will,
for a small fee, read the targets for you. I suppose there could be some
other uses such as with a film recorder but it could hardly justify the
extra cost for this option.
