Hi list.
I am trying to make a decision about which ICC package I should go for.
My needs are the following:
1. Scanner profiles (thinking of going for Dons HCT target for optimal
quality).
2. RGB output profiles, both for reflective and transmissive media, want
to be able to make profiles for LighJet and inkjets.
3. CMYK output profiles
4. Monitor profiles, I allready own a few Optical and Photocal packages,
but would like to be able to offer only the profile to cutomers i.e. so
they dont need to purchase the software, like the case with ColorVision
products.
To be able to do both reflective and transmissice media profiles I would
need the X-rite DTP-41/T (or the DTP-41/UVT) - right? I have not been
able to find any other spectrophotometers that can measure transmissive.
Is that really the case?
At colormall.com there is a ICC/X-Rite Pro Suite from ProfileCity.com
that seems to be a very good value, since it includes the X-Rite DTP-41
for around USD 3000. I would then need to buy the transmissive and UV
add-on for the spectrophotometer which is another USD 2500.
Looking at the other packages such as Gretag Profilemaker seems quite a
bit more expensive. It makes me wonder about the ProfileCity package, is
the Gretag much better? Then we have the Eye-One Pro with Eye-Match
package for about USD 2900, that includes the handheld
spectrophotometer, but then I would still need the DTP-41/UVT for
transmissive...
Any comments or advice would be great, on or off list.
Best regards
Chris
