I am using an Epson 10600UC with Best XXL rip. I use the generic US
Sheetfed Coated v2 profile for reference and photoshop proof setup. I
calibrate my monitor using PMP to 6500k, 2.2gam based on suggestions in this
forum. OSX and OS9 computers with Sony monitors give the same onscreen
results.
When viewing an image on screen vs. proof on Best 9180 paper I get a
"prefect" match using an old light booth that was given to us. It is a
portable desktop Gti with Graphiclite D5000 bulbs that have ???hours/years
on them, bulbs are not flickering. In the other booth, SOFV-1e also with
D5000 bulbs with 1387 hours, the image is much redder compared to my screen
and other booth. Why would my screen match an older booth that probably has
old bulbs vs. a newer booth/bulbs with intensity adjustments??? Should I
replace all bulbs to be sure?? ANY THOUGHTS?? I guess the age old
question, should I calibrate monitor to 5000k instead of 6500k? If I put
the piece of grey metal that came with the SOFV-1e booth in the older booth
it looks much less red then the new booth.
Also a side note/question...In photoshop color settings/conversion
options/engine I get a better match with the SOFV booth using Apple
Colorsync compared to my normal setting of Adobe (ACE) which matches the
older booth perfectly.
thanks.
