If you don't have any means of measuring the light produced by both booths
you don't have a way to tell what is what. Can you borrow a color meter to
mesure the color temperature in both booths?

Don't do anything until you have some starting reference point. In my GTI
SOFT-VIEW D5000 viewer, I get 5100K.

Eveyone's experience on this list seems to be unique with regards to monitor
calibration. I stick to D50 while others are D65 die-hards. Use what works
for you, I guess.

Much less red but much more neutral?

That should only make a difference when converting images. Not when soft
proofing.
