While the 8mm will probably read more consistent than the 4.5mm, what
would be best would an integrating-sphere instrument. The 8mm
Spectrolino does NOT work with the Spectroscan from my understanding.
Since it would be an entirely manual measurement process either way, you
might want to go with the sphere.

Does anyone out there have a Spectrolino 8mm Aperture Spectrophotometer?
I would like to have a canvas chart read with one and compare it to my
4.5mm Lino.
