After some time on the phone with Adobe tech support (today) , I was told
that for the RGB and CMYK working spaces to work as expected that it is
necessary to have the Color Setting Policies turned on. And that if the
Color Setting Policies were not turned on that the RGB and CMYK working
spaces would be ignored. I have not had the time to verify this today. I
am skeptical that you have to do this to get color management to work in
Illustrator. Could someone comment on this (one way or another).
