Hi Steve.

I downloaded "Specification ICC.1:2004-10 (Profile version 4.2.0.0)" (a 112-page PDF file: <http://tinyurl.com/yq38d6>).

Is this the ICC spec that you are referring to? If so, where exactly does it describe the technique you mention here?
