I have been puzzled by my inability to copy and paste to and from X11
windows. The usual comments on this list about this dilemma center on
making sure that quartz is running, for instance by adding
quartz-wm --only-proxy &
to the ~/.xinitrc file
X11 (beta 0.2.1) seems to work fine without the ~/.xinitrc file,
since there seems to be one in /usr/X11R6 .. Besides creating the
~/.xinitrc file seems to inhibit the X11 window from showing up at
all.
I am thinking the problem with paste was related to something left
over from Darwin or OroborOSX. I renamed the old X11R6 directory
before installing Apple X11, but this does not fix the problem. On
the other hand, installing X11 over a clean Apple OS10.2.3 seems to
fix the problem. Are there mysterious files associated with XDarwin
that need to be tracked down and ditched? How about other
incompatibilities? eg with SDK?
thanks
