It is too bad that "hide other applications" (cmd + opt + H) doesn't
seem to work in this switcher. One more use for that pesky mouse on my
desk ... :)
Although "hide" (Command-H) does work. I thought these features of
the switcher were relatively well-known. <http://docs.info.apple.com/
article.html?artnum=106743> One shortcut not mentioned in that
document is that ESC cancels the switcher without switching. So, you
can Command+Tab+Tab+Tab+Q+ESC to quit the fourth application in the
list without then switching applications.
