Yeah. We'll need a good way to say "the person has a valid X11" and
"the person has valid X11 development tools".
Fink is really only supporting 10.4+ at this point anyways (although
we do still intend to do one last 10.3 bindist build before officially
EOL-ing it) so we can shrink the list of things we need to "know"
pre-tiger considerably.
In The Real World, all it really means is:
a) detecting things with .pc files on 10.5
b) detecting apple's x11 on 10.4
c) detecting xfree86/xorg monolithic on 10.4
Once I can wrap up my apple-tiger-compatible xorg packages for 10.4
then we'll have .pc files for both and the only special case will be
b), which we can make some kind of compat wrapper or pkgconfig files
for.
