I think the original plan for copy/paste was to let X manage all of its
clipboards, but when command-C was pressed in X11.app, it would IMMEDIATELY
copy the selected text into the MacOS clipboard for pasting later (even if
the selected text was de-selected).
Of course, my own problem currently is an inability to paste into X11
applications at all--option-click does not currently work. I'm using X11.app
2.1.1 - (xorg-server 1.3.0-apple5). Command-click also doesn't work like it
used to (it used to work like right-click). Am I missing something?
Note that if I plug in a three-button mouse, middle-click and right-click
operate as expected.

Xquartz. My setup for X11 initiation includes launch of 'autocutsel'.
'autocusel' copies the selected text in the X window's primary buffer to
OSX clipboard. Before I was able to simply highlight text in the X window
and paste it to any OSX application using cmd-v. Now I have to explicitly
use cmd-c in the X window to make a selection that can be pasted to OSX
applications. It appears that 'autocusel' does not function any more.
Would it be possible to retain the original behaviour, which worked with
'autocutsel', in addition to the cmd-c method?
You have cut and paste? I don't have any cut and paste working at all
between X and Mac, but I'm on 2.1.0.1 and I'm working in an Xephyr window to
get full screen(ish). I'm running autocutsel, and I wasn't going to say
anything until I had time to upgrade to the latest and test again.
But I would REALLY like it to work. I just bodged a fix to get my tiger-fink
compiled firefox working under X (by copying in a tiger /etc/fonts dir) as a
stop gap. So to be clear, neither highlight nor cmd-c nor X11 menu get
anything over to a Terminal window, nor even into a xterm window running
outside of Xephyr. And nothing I've found works in the reverse direction
either :-(
I haven't exhaustively played with the X11 preferences yet though.
