What do you mean "the station came from its box"? How did you come by
a Mac with no OS install disk?
The download you found is for OS X 10.3 and older, so if you have 10.4
or 10.5 it's no good. The error message indicating you have it already
installed is bogus.
The xdarwin link will get you a downloadable X11 for 10.5, but I don't
know about 10.4. The X11 that shipped with 10.5 had some issues that
prompted folks to fall back to the 10.4 version, and someone may have
linked to it from the xdarwin site for that reason, but otherwise I
don't know of a source for 10.4 X11 apart from the 10.4 install DVD.
