I'd personally love to see an "Ashell" that understands applescript
commands the way csh does C commands. I know perl and cgi, etc... but I
LOVE APPLESCRIPT!!!! It's just so EASY and nice. Much less coding, no
headers, fewer tokens to memorize....AHHH! Some kind of shell support would
really be lovely. I realize applescript was intended primarily to script
things with GUI's, but I would really love to be able to use it the same
way I use perl or Python. Why can't they just build all the scriptability
around OSA? OSA Is such a great concept! Instead of having to wrtite a perl
or python or javascript interface into an application, you write an OSA
interface, and all the OSA compatible languages support it instantly! This
is to scripting what PostScript is to printing, or what Quicktime is for
AV! I can't believe they don't get it!
