Dunno. I haven't gone to OS 9.1 yet. I'm working on an applet that needs
the "write as list" command, which is broken in OS 9.1. So I'm not in a
hurry to upgrade (although the new "execution state" is very tempting!).
I'm planning to first install a "test OS 9.1" first and look for a
workaround for the "write as list" bug.

It isn't. Scriptability only started with OS 9.1

FWIW, under OS 9.0.4 with CarbonLib 1.2, I get the speedy menu blinking in
Script Editor. I've reverted to CarbonLib 1.0.4.
