Apologies for ranting, but I had to get this off my mind.
Somehow I'd missed that reply too, so thanks for fishing it out and
resending. This sounds a bit similar to a great freeware control panel
called "Default App" (works only in OS 7/8/9, not in OS X nor "in" Classic,
unfortunately).
But in both cases there may be a problem: this "Edit" button shows up only
in applets and droplets, which are _applications_ not documents. It
certainly wouldn't work with Default App, and it sounds as if it may not
work with your Redirector either, if it requires documents. Have you tried
it with applets?
