Thank you, gentlemen, this fixed my problem. Strange, though, that Apple would
put the display dialog event in with the security components that so many
people using a one-person Mac don't need and possibly decide to disable. I
thought of writing an error message to alert the user, but, duh, no dialog to
display the message. Go figure.
