There's a TIL article: http://til.info.apple.com/techinfo.nsf/artnum/n106302

Using AppleScript with CarbonLib 1.3.1 installed can cause the computer
to stop responding.

Does anyone know whether AS and the installed scripting additions continue
to work OK as long as subfolders are removed? Or would there still be a
problem?
Thanks to anyone who has already tried out CarbonLib 1.3.1 and can tell us
about it.
I've installed CarbonLib 1.3.1 on my system (OS 9.1/AppleScript 1.6)
and so far, I've seen no apparent problems. FYI, there are no folders
within my Scripting Additions folder.
I don't normally use Script Editor, but I ran it through a quick
check and it now appears to behave better than it did with previous
versions of CarbonLib (no flashing menu bar when using keyboard
commands). <shrug>
