There's a TIL article:
http://til.info.apple.com/techinfo.nsf/artnum/n106302
which says :
Using AppleScript with CarbonLib 1.3.1 installed can cause the computer
to stop responding.
It says a workaround solution is:
You can avoid this issue by taking one of these two actions:
1. Remove folders from the Scripting Additions folder.
2. Replace CarbonLib 1.3.1 with CarbonLib 1.2.5.
But then it says:
To empty the Scripting Additions folder, follow these steps:
1. Open the System Folder.
2. Open the Scripting Additions folder.
3. Drag any folders that are inside the Scripting Additions folder to the
Trash, or to another folder if you wish to keep any of the items.
------------
Who said anything about _emptying_ the Scripting Additions folder? Is the
problem only with subfolders, or also with files?
I have no interest in emptying the Scripting Additions folder. But I'd be
quite happy to remove the one and subfolder within it, as long as all the
files (osaxen) can stay where they are.
Does anyone know whether AS and the installed scripting additions continue
to work OK as long as subfolders are removed? Or would there still be a
problem?
Thanks to anyone who has already tried out CarbonLib 1.3.1 and can tell us
about it.
