2) Is there any way to make a folder unmovable and having the name locked (like sharing does) but without having file sharing enabled and without making it a system folder?

Romy,

With regard to your second question, I have discovered a trick using ResEdit to "lock" a folder's name; as follows:

1) Launch ResEdit and choose "Get File/Folder Info" from the File menu.
2) Select the folder to be locked and check the boxes for "Invisible" and "Locked".
3) Save the changes you made and *close the window* - the folder will disappear from view in the Finder.
4) Choose "Get File/Folder Info" from the File menu again.
5) Again, select the folder to be locked, and this time uncheck the box marked "Invisible", leaving the box for "Locked" checked.
6) Save changes and close window.

Hey presto: your folder's name is now locked. OK, so it can still be moved, but it's a start, I thought.
Hope this helps.

Pier.
