Palm Desktop lets you attach external files to data records, and selecting
one of them from the attachments popup menu will open it. I suppose you
could attach an AppleScript that displays the correct message in your e-mail
program. I wonder how automatic this could all be made using AppleScript.

One possibility is to store a list of attached e-mail message IDs in an
event title, or perhaps even in a note attached to the event, and when the
script is invoked, grab the message IDs and tell the e-mail application to
display them. I think the only missing piece of the puzzle is that there may
not be a way to refer to the selected event in Palm Desktop. I suppose it's
at least worth looking into.
