For example, when scripting FileMaker Pro, it's better to have FileMaker in
the front for certain commands. I suggest adding activate commands at
various points in your script to see if it speeds up the process. If
FileMaker is in the front and your script seems slow, have the script bring
itself back to the front. If the script is in the front and it's slow, have
it bring FileMaker back to the front.

---> A flickering cursor between the beach ball and an arrow is common.
Besides, unless you're doing something with a cursor manipulating scripting
addition, I don't believe you can affect the look of the cursor with your
code.
