Flickering cursor

  • Subject: Flickering cursor

I have a very long AS that I've been continually refining to properly
execute a lengthy batch process (taking about an hour to process a number of
text files). Recently, I have made some kind of change while fixing a bug
that has slowed down the script processing significantly. At first, I
thought the slow down might have just been due to something on my system
(such as using IE verses Netscape), but I experience the same slow down on
the target machine (and mine with all other apps closed). My question is in
trying to figure out my screw-up, I've noticed the rapid changing of the
cursor from an arrow to the spinning beach ball. I use two OSAX (Dialog
Director and ACME Script Widgets 2.5.2) and dump results to Filemaker every
few minutes. It seems like it should stay on the beach ball until the
script finishes, but the constant flickering back and forth has me wondering
if there could be something inherently wrong in my logic which is causing
this. Is this flickering a normal thing?

Thanks,

Matt
