The only idea that occurs to me is to check the permissions on the old
scripts. I have found that it is easy to accidentally install things on Mac
OS X in such a way as to make them inaccessible to myself because I don't
have sufficient permissions. (The easiest way to do this seems to be to drag
a folder full of things from a Mac OS 9 installation onto my Mac OS X
installation, instead of dragging the contents of the folder into a folder
that I personally created in my Mac OS X installation. When beta testing Mac
OS X 10.1, I once dragged the entire saved Documents folder into a
clean-installed Mac OS X installation, replacing the original Documents
folder, and I lost the ability to access ALL of my documents.)
