JON!!! OMG!!
I have found that the average user is computer challenged. They mean well,
but haven't had the training, experience or whatever to the extent I have. I
try to take that into consideration when designing the user interface for
the scripts I write for them.
I've learned the hard way that I can't expect everyone to attack the problem
and use the tools I've written in the exact same way I envisioned them to be
used. If I fail to reign in my arrogance and design something everyone else
in the world interprets different than I intended, then I'm the moron.
Everyone I know are intelligent, caring beings. They all have VASTLY
different experience levels on any given subject. They all have different
capabilities. The only person I can call a moron is the one that repeats the
same mistakes over and over the exact same way hoping for a different
outcome each time. (OK, OK -- corporate management is a moron <grin>. Big
Dilbert fan here.)

average. Their success is determined by their determination. ;)
"Rising" is not my goal. That tends to invite a "better than/less than"
mentality. I'm just glad to have an avenue to contribute my given talents to
the good and grow personally.
My daily journey of personal realization of my place in this world and being
good at it is my success. And that doesn't happen in a vacuum -- a lot of
people are responsible for where I am today, and I'm humbly grateful -- you
can count yourself as one of those people. Your postings here have guided
many of my efforts, and I'm a big fan of "Jon's Commands" -- also freely
given. On behalf of a lowly scripter, thanks.
