I do have the Scripting folder in my system folder. It is not in the
extension folder. Actually, not being (yet) familiar with Apple
Script, I do not know what should be there and what could be missing.
There are 2 Apple Script related extensions in the extension folder. They
are:
Name; AppleScript Type: System extension Version: 1.1
Name: AppleScriptLib Type: Library Version: 1.2.2 System 8.5
In my System folder I have 2 Apple Script related folders. They are
set up as follows. :
- Scripting Additions
- Desktop Printer Manager
- Dialects
- English Dialect
- FileSharing Commands
- Keyboard Addition
- MonitorDepth
- Network Setup Scripting
- Norton AV Addition
- OneClick Scripting Additions
- Remote Access Commands
- Standard Additions
- URL Access Scripting
- Scripts
- Finder Scripts
- Nothing is contained in this folder
- Folder Action Scripts
- add - duplicate to folders
- add - new item alert
- add - reject added items
- add - set view prefs to match
- close - close sub-folders
- mount/unmount server aliases
- move - align open sub-folders
- open - open items labeled 1
- open - show comments in dialog
- remove - retrieve items
- (Over wrote the name of this one)
- Nothing is contained in this folder
I see that an item called "MonitorDepth" is included in the Apple
Scripts folder. I am now using SwitchRes to use a different monitor
setting. If the monitor depth is a part of the core of Apple script
and I have bypassed it.. could that be a problem?
Also, I have 1.3.6 not 1.3.7. Wait a minute! I see that the read me
file in the Apple extras Apple script folder is for version 1.3.6.
But the get info ion the script editor says it is system 8.5, version
1.1.3. It looks like the update I did to system 8.6 missed a spot.
Perhaps downloading the 8.6 updater and using the "Tome viewer"
mentioned earlier will help. At least I would have constant pieces to
the puzzle... Thoughts?
PS - if it's publicly available and doing so isn't going to break any
copywrite laws, can anyone send me that complete 8.6 current package?
(stuffed of course)
Thanks, lb
