Just to be clear, these specific shortcuts are still present in MacOSX,
working perfectly; they are not the reason for my slow adoption of OSX. The
underappreciated MacOS 9.x features I really miss are the Launcher and the
scriptable application palette.

I still detest the dock and suppose I always will, but OSX is getting better
with each revision.
