And unless you've adjusted things from their out-of-the-box state, can't
send anything anywhere.

sendmail configuration is daunting (another reference to "The Unix-Haters
Handbook" goes here). And if you accidentally set it up as an open relay,
your ISP will be most unhappy (up to and including cancelling your account).

There are much better MTAs, particularly for novices, if one must.
