Sounds like you may have a corrupt font that is causing the
havoc (this is one of multiple possibilities, but the most
likely one, based on your comments). Consider getting your
hands on a copy of FontBox by InsiderSoftware, which
isolates and corrects such problems. Run the program
repeatedly until it finds no more problems.

The other thing you might want to do is 'image' the hard
drives as they exist when they are brand new and save that
file to a DVD-RAM, DVD-ROM, external hard drive or file
server, so that when you have to replace the system, you
just erase the drive and copy the image to it (without
having to rerun installers, etc).

You may also want to obtain the services of a specialized
consultant to determine exactly what the problem is, so
that it can be corrected before it occurs. This kind of
thing is my specialty, and if you are interested in my
