Batch image analysis and manipulation

  • Subject: Batch image analysis and manipulation

I've recently been using applescript to automatically trim down scanned in images before OCR. As this might be handy for anyone contemplating image manipulation/comparison or working with scanned records intended for OCR, I've made the notes available at:
http://www.otago.ac.nz/nzpg/caversham/files/CTP260402.pdf (around 500K)

Applescript was used to link together a graphics program (Graphic Converter) and a database program (Valentina), as well as controlling the unix command line.

Regards,
David Hood
