What version of Entourage is it?

I've got a script that opens a copy of entourage based on a path that's sent
to the script. The script can run in either OS9 or Classic. If it's in
Classic, it will open either the OS9 version of Entourage or the OSX
version. If it's in OS9, it will obviously fail to open the OSX version.
The problem is that I can't tell what version of Entourage I'm looking at.
If I'm running in OS9 and the path points to the OSX version of Entourage, I
can't tell that it's an OSX version. It isn't Entourage.app and I can't get
a version number from it. Is there a way to tell the difference that I
don't know about.
The only thing I can think of is to see if the path includes and "X" or and
"Office X". That will work unless someone moves Entourage to another
folder.
This seems to be related to the situation where double-clicking on a Word
document in OS9 attempts to open Word X.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Daniel Weinstein
