If you are using apps which have Services enabled, a copy of selected text will be placed into a new document. For instance, selected Mail.app message text will be placed in a TextEdit document with formatting maintained. BBedit can also be utilized.

Excellent suggestion and completely forgotten, probably cause of some reasons:

1) No shortkey for the "Make new AppleScript" command

- Would be very useful.
- Adding this command inside Mail's contextual menu: useful too.

2) This command auto-compile what is pasted in a script window

- Could be an option in Apple's SE2 Preferences.

3) This list breaks lines too short, and removes special characters used in many scripts

- Please, let the original messages as written with their own return characters.
- Here, the topic discussed is AppleScript. Useful to keep all characters used in scripts:
Just four characters: (Alt =) (Alt <) (Alt-Maj <) (Alt-L or Alt-Return)

Any feedback?

Kind regards,
