Well I'd like to know how you do it.
Hrmpf, I spoke too soon perhaps. That is, some of my scripts do not show the
".scpt" extension in Eudora's Script menu [6.0a31] but some others do. The
ones that show with ".scpt" have the Finder option to hide the extension set
to off. So my impression was that things are working as the interface
suggests they should.
But now that I test it, I see the same as you do: checking the "hide
extension" option only affects Finder presentation; not that of Eudora's
Script menu. Even when stripping ".scpt" from the file's name Eudora's Script
menu still shows ".scpt". (I quit and relaunched Eudora to make sure.)
So there is something different about these scripts. I've looked at my
script's modification dates and see that the most recently changed ones don't
show ".scpt", however, they are also my oldest scripts. So possibly it has
something to do with the version of Script Editor used to create the script
initially.
{testing}
Yep. A script created with SE2.0v36 shows up with ".scpt" in Eudora's Script
menu. Creating a script with SE1.9 there is no ".scpt" in Eudora. Where is
Tim Bumgarner? :)
So I assume that my Eudora scripts that show no ".scpt" were created with an
older version of Script Editor (If you want I can send you one of them. I'm
sure your disection skills are more likely to uncover what's different about
them than mine are.)
[FWIW, all this with SE2.0 v36 and Eudora 6.0a31 under 10.2.6]
