What really matters is your version of AppleScript. Check the version of the "AppleScript" file (in System Folder:Extensions, IIRC). If it is 1.7, 1.8.1 or 1.8.2 then that's the problem, I think: I would advise downgrading to 1.6 (upgrading to 1.8.3 could be a solution, too, but I'm not sure 9.1 supports AS 1.8.3).

(If you choose to downgrade and you don't have AS 1.6's parts handy, tell me).
