Tell you what I'd like to see one day: in one of his keynotes, Steve Jobs
recording an Applescript and then using it to show how it makes life easier
when using the computer.
That on its own would do more for the language both within and without the
company than any amount of noise we might make on this list or elsewhere.
The way to move it up the agenda isn't to move it up the agenda within the
structure of the company, but to hop around the structure and take a detour
to the CEO's office.
Of course, for it to be usable in the keynote, you'd need a recordable
Finder, Mail, Address Book..... or maybe just one of those. Still, imagine
the effect if scripting took its place up there alongside showing how to
retouch - by hand - those fuzzy photos etc. What if you could script the
retouching of *all* your photos. (You can't, presently.)
