We don't know really. Sometimes, yes, sometimes no. Unfortunately, too many
Apple applications and tools don't have any AppleScript support at all:

iSync, Keynote, Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express, DVD Studio Pro, the Seven
main OS X Server tools.

Even on the scriptable applications site, out of 24 apps listed, 4 aren't
apps, one is a beta, and in the case of Keychain, it's dictionary is BADLY
broken, unless that got fixed in 10.2.4, and no one got told.

So tell me...is AppleScript moving forward. I hope it is, and sometimes it
looks to be, but then, talk to the pro app people, and catch THAT 'tude
towards AppleScript....

Outside of Sal? No, not really.

Nonsense. AppleScript is not new, it's not minor, and it's been a critical
service of the Mac OS for well over ten years. Actually providing good
AppleScript support may be new for the NeXTies, but it's not new, untested,
untried, or unused.

Well, when you try to show "business cases" to the FCP team as to why
AppleScript support is necessary, and get either blown off, or told, "It
isn't happening", then there is no room for productive discussion. *Apple*
is causing more problems with AppleScript than any hundred yayhoos on this
list.

If you want to see how a scripting language should be supported, look at MS
and VB(A).
