Note that the subject of this thread is somewhat misleading with respect to
Mac OS X. In Mac OS X, the "desktop" represents the contents of the folder
/Users/shortname/Desktop. It's an ordinary user folder in every respect
save having a "path to" way to get to it.

So we're talking about moving a file from one user folder to another user
folder (darn English...same user, another folder), not from some special
place to a user folder.
