Bill,
There is, at the end of the day, a need to get the work done. PreFab makes that easier to do. I see the scripting environment expanding- more than I had thought possible when X was released. Applescript seems more mainstream and, maybe it is me, but it also feels like more new people are beginning to explore it.

Anything that can be done to facilitate the entry of new folks in the fold is to everyone's good. A tool that make working with apps that are not scriptable adds value and usefulness to Apple's products.

Know I'm preaching to the choir.

I can assure you and everybody on this list that the Apple engineers
responsible for GUI Scripting are acutely aware that a good object model
dictionary is always preferred over reliance on GUI Scripting.

Similarly, we at PreFab Software are long-time, dedicated AppleScripters. We
always counsel users of PreFab UI Browser who write in to our support
address for help with GUI Scripting to look at the target application's
terminology dictionary as a first resort.

Nevertheless, for applications that don't have a dictionary, or whose
dictionary isn't up to a particular task, GUI Scripting is essential.
